4.Q. You have convinced us that prayer is essential to lead a peaceful and serene life- Then at what age shall we start praying and how should we pray?

A. What age? Do you mean to say prayer should be the last ritual before departing from this world. Certainly not; prayer is meant for all ages. If one has not started praying, the time to start is now, now and now and  this minute.

               Do you know what is prayer? It is "BHAKTI”. One should think of the Lord with Bhakti; What is Bhakti? Bhakti is Infinite love, Incessant love. He needs only heart felt love, love and love alone. This then will be absolute devotion and not contractual devotion. That means when you give me this and that like passing exam or getting promotion etc. I will give you money, fruits, coconut or hair etc, is contractual devotion.

               What is the use of this kind of prayer?

With love as Bhakti, you can find Him as your constant companion.

At this juncture I would like to quote.

               "SRI VARAAHA CHARAMA SLOKAM"

sthithe manasi suswasthe sareere satiyo naraha

dhathu samye sthithe smarthaa viswaroopam cha maamajam

thathastham mriyamaanam thu kaasta paashana sannibham

aham smarami madbhaktam nayaami paramaam gatim

               LORD VARAAHASWAMI SAID, "When your mind is sound, your body is in best of health, when you are in prime of life if you think of me once, even when you are in "Coma" like a log of wood or stone and when you are ready to exit from this world 'AHAM SMARAMI' I will think of you",

Do you realise how easily you can purchase Him or make Him run after you with your prayer or Bhakti. It proves future can be purchased by the present. That means with your present prayer or Bhakti you can purchase your future or Lord Himself who even obeys you.
