11th Manthram:

vidva:mcha: vidya:mcha
yasthadve:do:bhayagam saha
|
avidyaya: mruthyum thi:rthwa:
vidyaya:mruthama:snuthe: ||

This manthram gives clear answer to the question raised from the 10th manthram. Man can cross 'Mruthyu' or 'samsa:ra' by 'avidya' as well as by 'vidya'. Here 'avidya' means performance of ones duties or vidya means knowledge of God. By 'avidya' (i.e., karma:charana) man gets fulfillment of his desires and again falls back into this world with desire; this is mruthyu or samsa:ra. By vidya (i.e., by knowledge), he understands God. But a mere knowledge should be supported by an unlimited love for God. Thus, mere karma or mere knowledge cannot be the means to reach God and to attain moksha. Vidya combined with love for God alone is the path to moksha. Therefore, mere avidya or mere vidya cannot  lead man to moksha. Vidya combined with love for God is bhakthi or total devotion to God. Bhakthi followed by Upasana or dhya:na are the perfect means to moksha. This is the purport of the 11th manthram.
